Covers are used over fitted nappies, with prefolds, or over other nappies for additional protection.
Covers are usually made from waterproof (eg. PUL) or water resistant materials like wool and fleece.
Pros:
100% wool covers unless soiled only require to be dried between use not washed.
You don't require alot of covers.
Great for "adding" to your nappy set
Some are fast drying.
You can just change the absorbant part not the cover.
Less washing.
Cost effective
Cons:
Need to use with something else absorbant
Some need to be handwashed
Two items to use, wash and dry.
